Audiophile-grade digital to analog converter
Driven to the core with the high resolution ES90128K2M ESS Saber32 Reference digital-to-analog (DAC) converter with 192kHz/24-bit sampling rates, the Heritage Headphone Amp is the ideal 2-channel audiophile grade DAC. With the ESS 32-bit HyperStream® DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the amplifier delivers clear sound and minimal distortion. Designed for the most discerning ears, the Heritage Headphone Amplifier doubles the processing result of any digital source, whether the output is a pair of headphones or RCA outputs.
Asynchronous USB interface
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier uses the XMOS USB audio receiver platform, which is considered one of the best solutions for streaming audio from USB sources. This allows the amplifier to lock the audio stream into its internal clock, keeping the audio stream as clean as possible. ASIO support is included for audio software that supports it. It can be connected directly to the USB interface for lossless playback of content, bypassing your iOS (Lighting™ - USB Camera Adapter, sold separately) and Android (5.0 Lollipop and newer) device's digital-to-analog converter.
Dual Amp for Balanced Sound Output
The signal path, complete with dual Class-AB TI TPA6120A2 amplifiers, minimizes crosstalk while increasing overall system output. Built to have the best possible signal-to-noise ratio, amplifiers are as quiet as a reference DAC. Plug in any headphones with the XLR-4 balanced cable (not included) and get a true audiophile solution. Move the gain knob to “Hi-Z” for a +10 dB increase in output when driving even the most powerful headphones.
Versatile Inputs and Outputs
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier is intended to operate as a digital analog processor for USB audio, optical and coaxial inputs. Beyond its primary use as a balanced headphone amplifier, it also works as a DAC for powerful speakers, making it the ideal desk companion. Turn the output switch to “Line” and the amplifier mutes the headphone output and activates the line output on the back of the amplifier. Turn the switch on the back of the unit from “Fixed” to “Variable”; you now have control of the volume button on the front.
Low Distortion
The Heritage Headphone Amp is designed to provide the lowest distortion in its class. It uses signal path relays and analog gain control to realize the full performance of the Saber DAC. We have provided these items with a highly customized circuit board layout and reference components. This amplifier will improve the quality of any headphones or audio system plugged in.
Sample Rate Notice
The Heritage Headphone Amp displays the processed sampling rate from digital sources to ensure all settings on your input source are correct. Front panel LEDs; It will illuminate white for PCM sources and blue for DSD files.
